After the Civil War the Klan arose. Masked men terrorizing entire communities with violence. The Federal government's troops did their best to curb the cowards murdering people while hiding behind masks. Today, the federal government IS the Klan: cowards murdering people while hiding behind masks. His name was Mathew Allen. Masked ICE agents shot him multiple times while he was surrounded by half a dozen agents holding him down. They are the Klan. You are their leader. You are responsible for the terror and death they are spreading. As Shakespeare wrote: "Record it with your high and worthy deeds. ’Twas bravely done, if you bethink you of it."
These are the facts: we know that they have been given explicit orders to defy the Fourth Amendment. Thus violating their oath to uphold the Constitution. You took the same oath and apparently feel no need to uphold it which means you lied when you took that oath.
We know that you believed the use of toddler chalk on the sidewalk outside your office was a crime serious enough to call for a police investigation. We know that the federal government are actively blocking a criminal investigation for the man who shot Renée Good and you are enabling that cover-up. Your priorities are clear enough: minor vandalism aimed at you is a matter for the police. An apparent murder is not. This makes you a liar and a coward.
We know there have been three violent deaths in Minnesota this year, two of them were committed because you voted to allow ICE to turn into a masked vigilante force unaccountable to the rule of law and the Constituition. You are complicit in these deaths both by your votes and your silence.
We know that you are now trotting out a pathetic "Blueprint" that does nothing to address this violence. If you support ICE, say so. Say that you support their activities. Say it proud and loud. Make it the centerpiece of your re-election campaign. That you will never do this marks you a coward.
